Words can’t describe how amazing Mady is with a camera - although myself (and all of the other 5 star reviews) have tried our best to put the words together.

We had calls with quite a few photographers as we searched for one for our wedding day. They were all fine, but none gave us that certain feeling that we had found “the one” - until we met with Mady. Nick and I got off the call and confirmed that we would be booking her immediately.

From our engagement pictures, to my bridal portraits, to our wedding day, Mady was stellar. She is such a kind person, and was a joy to have around in all of the intimate and emotional moments that come with your wedding. Aside from her amazing self, her photos are art and evoke so many strong emotions. She is also a true professional, and was able to navigate family photos with ease on our wedding day (wrangling all of those family members is truly a skill in itself).

Mady was also incredibly helpful with recommending other vendors during the planning process. Specifically, she spoke highly of Mood Fleuriste early on in our engagement, which led us to book her for our florals (which, side note, if you are still searching - check her out!).

The feeling of getting ready to leave for our honeymoon and seeing the sneak peek pictures for our wedding come through so soon after our day was a joy like no other. Run don't walk. Mady is the absolute best decision we made for our wedding.

I went into wedding planning feeling extraordinarily overwhelmed by the industry of it all and resistant to a lot of the expectations around what you're "supposed" to do -- getting to speak with Mady was a much-needed breath of fresh air. She not only validated but celebrated my feelings and offered herself as a resource from the get-go. I knew from our first chat that her calm, warm demeanor was exactly what we wanted (and needed!).

Besides being an incredible human and a joy to be around, her artistry is truly exceptional. We wanted a more organic, elevated, documentary-style approach for our wedding photos. This type of work takes an incredible eye, a keen intuition, and real mastery of the camera. Mady has all of these, and somehow makes it feel effortless. The photos we got back are drop-dead gorgeous and something we will treasure for a lifetime.

From start to finish, her process underscores the fact that she is a master of connection and truly cares about her clients. Not to mention how much fun it was to be in front of her lens! As someone who generally does not enjoy having photos taken, this speaks volumes.

Mady was by far the best wedding decision we made. I came across Mady’s photos on instagram and reached out to her that same day. From my first conversation with her I knew I needed her. In the beginning of the planning process I felt scattered and confused about my overall vision, but she immediately brought me a sense of peace. She is professional yet so friendly that I felt like I had known her long before our initial phone call. Her calmness, intelligence and genuine kindness helped me feel confident in making wedding choices that were nontraditional. She encouraged me to stay true to myself and my wedding vision, which resulted in the most perfect day/weekend imaginable for us. I never thought that our photographer would end up making all the difference in the details of the entire process, and I could not be more grateful that we found Mady.

When we finally got to meet Mady at our engagement shoot, we both liked her so much and we had fun taking photos. Both of us left feeling like we made a new friend and saying how excited we were for her to be part of our wedding. On our wedding day she arrived and again brought a sense of peace and calmness with her (which I really needed). As a bridesmaid in the past, I have often felt brides are rushed and stressed on their wedding days, which robs them of enjoying their day to the fullest and makes it difficult to really be present. It was really important to me that we were completely present on our wedding day, I wanted to avoid feeling like we spent the day posing for photos. With Mady, I knew she had a photography style I was in love with. To me her photos feel very raw and real, and perfectly imperfect in the most amazing way, so I trusted that she would be able to capture our day in that same way without us having to do anything but be in the moment. One of the best feelings was being able to truly trust her and to have zero pressure on myself to make sure she got certain shots. Throughout the day I did not feel like I was posing or being photographed, which was so wonderful and allowed us to fully experience the day and feel the love. Even when we were away from the party taking bride and groom photos with Mady, we were having so much fun. Along with the insanely happy photos she gave us, she gave us the best gift in that we were actually able to enjoy our wedding and make beautiful memories with our favorite people. We booked Mady for our wedding before we had a date or a venue. From the beginning, we knew that the photography was one of the most important aspects of our wedding day and we wanted to find the best person possible to capture our photos for us. We found that, and more, in Mady.

Throughout the entire process, Mady was a friend to us. We had gotten professional photos taken together in the past, but we always felt a little bit uncomfortable and awkward during them. We always felt like ourselves with Mady and that's clear in every picture she took of us.

Beyond finding amazing vendors to work with, we were also interested in finding vendors who were affirming of the love that we shared. Mady is one of the only vendors we came across who used gender neutral language on her website and within her contracts. She understood our experience in planning an LGBTQ wedding and that meant a lot to us.

I cannot express enough how incredible Mady made this experience for us. She was my friend before she was my photographer. I asked Mady to shoot our wedding because I had an emotional connection her photos. Even before I was engaged I asked whenever the moment happened for me, if she would do it. She has an eye for authenticity and finds moments to illuminate the reality of the day. She is a master at her craft. I tend to be a bit awkward and clumsy in my movements and Mady helped direct me with more intentional positions to make me look my best. My favorite and most memorable moment of my wedding was on the dance floor. Getting to work with Mady was the truly most rewarding experience and invaluable wedding decision we made. She is, first and foremost an absolute joy of a person to work with. We felt so at ease from the moment we booked her (before we even had our wedding date) because I knew if all else fails, our day will be perfectly captured. Anyone can take photos and edit them in pleasing colors, but it takes someone who really sees people and enjoys the process to capture such beautiful and real images.
