Seven years of weddings has taught me a lot — in doing this work, I’ve learned so much about people, my craft, and myself.

Here’s what I’ve come to know:

I love film. I love the depth in it and the colors are unmatched. My work these days is a film-first approach.
Trends come and go really fast — in both wedding aesthetics and photography techniques. You and I, if we stick to things that we intrinsically love, then we will both love the photos forever.
I work in a documentary style, but gentle guidance is sometimes required and happily offered.
I love to make friends with your friends and your family. After all, the story I’m documenting is not just one of two people, but all of the threads in their lives that got them to this day.
In order to put my whole heart into each wedding I do, it’s important for me to limit the amount of work I take on.
My best work is born out of emotional investment and deep trust.

Someone recently asked me why I liked photographing weddings. There is something so magical and also heavy about knowing that the day I’m walking into is quite literally never going to happen again. There will be people that meet for the first time. There will be friends and families from all parts of the world under one roof. There will be people at the last wedding they will ever attend. When I think about photographing these days, I remember that these photos that are made are not just for the people who hired me, but also for everyone that comes after them.

It’s never been just about pretty photos. It’s legacy preservation.

Let's hang out.

FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS

what makes a good photograph?

Light. Human connection. Composition. Vulnerability. Fresh perspective.

where are you based & will you travel?

I am based in NC, have a big, big love for NYC, and regularly work up and down the East Coast. If you’re getting married in a different destination, we can discuss options!

how long until we receive photos?

Couples and engagement sessions are returned within 3-4 weeks and weddings within 8-10 weeks. Wedding days will receive previews within 72 hours.

what is the booking process like?

You inquire and then we set up a call to get to know each other. Once we've discussed options and I've sent over a quote, you'll let me know which option works best for you. Then I'll send over a contract and invoice for a 30% non-refundable retainer to hold your date.
Then we plan!

WORDS

KIND

Run don't walk. Mady is the absolute best decision we made for our wedding. I went into wedding planning feeling extraordinarily overwhelmed by the industry of it all and resistant to a lot of the expectations around what you're "supposed" to do -- getting to speak with Mady was a much-needed breath of fresh air. She not only validated but celebrated my feelings and offered herself as a resource from the get-go. I knew from our first chat that her calm, warm demeanor was exactly what we wanted (and needed!). Besides being an incredible human and a joy to be around, her artistry is truly exceptional. We wanted a more organic, elevated, documentary-style approach for our wedding photos. This type of work takes an incredible eye, a keen intuition, and real mastery of the camera. Mady has all of these, and somehow makes it feel effortless. The photos we got back are drop-dead gorgeous and something we will treasure for a lifetime.
